When it comes to modified cars in the UK the VW golf is one of the most popular cars modified by generations of car owners. From your dad and his mk2 golf to your brother with his mk3, generations of car fans have always been fond of the German hatchback. With the Golf they become more and more popular as the years go on and takes more than a set of alloys to make your Golf stand out from the crowd, and with Neville he really went the extra mile to create the finished car you see now.

Neville bought the car standard and from the moment the car became his he got to work on adding his own touch to the car. On the bodywork front he’s added a GTI front bumper with an edition 30 lip, GTI side skirts, an edition 30 rear bumper, a GTI rear spoiler and has de-wipered the rear. With the bodywork now looking immaculate he then added a set of edition 30 lights to the rear and up front a set of R32 xenon headlights.

With nearly every piece of bodywork now replaced Neville set to work on getting some new wheels and went original with some MAM 18inch alloys giving the car a real original and clean look. When it comes to lowering your car nearly everyone goes for airbags these days and when I first looked at Neville’s golf I was almost convinced he had done the same, so on finding out he had opted for the static option with some V-Maxx coilovers turned completely down my faith in the static drop was restored.

Inside the car Neville’s replaced the standard steering wheel with the GTI version and replaced his standard gear knob with a new GTI version. He ripped out the old standard chairs and replaced them with a beautiful set of edition 30 seats. With Neville, (like most Golf owners these days) going for the diesel TDI model it would have been rude for him not to have done some performance work and so he got to work on fitting a new straight through exhaust with twin end pipes, remapped the engine up to a not too shabby 140bhp from its standard 105bhp and fitted some custom purple Brembo brakes that give him the breaking needed to keep the speed of the car under control. Under the hood Neville kept to his pink and black colour scheme and painted with engine cover an ‘in-your-face’ pink that fits the car perfectly.

With such a great attention to detail inside and out, this car is definitely a unique take on a popular car. It’s taken a good while for Neville to get his car to where it is today, but he’s not taking too long to sit back and enjoy his work as he already has plans to sell the Golf and move on to another project.
